Sex is also great for your heart.  Intercourse, in particular, has been linked to lower blood pressure and better stress responses.  Since it’s a form of exercise (probably the most fun form of exercise) it boosts your heart rate and burns calories.  For men who regularly have sex, studies have shown a significant drop in the risk of getting heart disease!

Having sex can help reduce your pain.  Sex has been proven to relieve leg and back pain as well as headaches and menstrual cramps.  During sexual activity your body releases pain-blocking hormones.  Some people have even found that regular sex has helped, or even eliminated, their frequent migraines!

Another great benefit of sex is it improves your emotional well-being!  Sex releases oxytocin also called “the love hormone” and prolactin.  These hormones promote good sleep, which is essential to both body and mind wellness.  Having sex on a regular basis relieves stress and it even boosts your self-esteem!  This is all due to those feel-good chemicals released during intercourse and orgasm.
